English actor Idris Elba attended his first ever Akwasidae – a festival celebrated on a Sunday, once every six weeks – at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Sunday
The first Akwasidae in every year is normally a big occasion.
Elba also paid homage to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll
Known for his dynamic performance in The Wire, Elba was resplendent at the festival in Ghanaian kente cloth as he exchanged pleasantries with dignitaries and ordinary Ghanaians.
