Destiny Etiko took to Instagram on Saturday to express fear about how this could impact economic activities.
She lamented about how difficult it is to source the new Naira, with vendors beginning to reject the old notes.
“You guys might think you can afford this and that. As it stands now, the rich also cry,” Destiny Etiko said.
It’s not funny anymore. Yesterday I was with my friend. I don’t know what happened, probably she poured some water on her body. As she was about to bring out something from her pocket, our so-called new money came out.
“And what happened? [It] already stained her white. Stained! Why do our new naira notes bleach?
“Even the old money, you can’t even use it to purchase anything. No one takes it from you.
“The new money is not in circulation, everything is on the high side, even fuel is high.”
The CBN has had as a top project in recent months the redesign and circulation of the N200, N500, and N1,000 notes.
